In 2005, FlexisMed SA was created by Mourad B. Mokhtar, in Geneva, Switzerland, as a Research and Development organization dedicated to improving patient care by developing cutting edge Dynamic Spinal Technologies addressing the unmet clinical need of removing pain without removing motion.

In 2006, Eden Spine LLC, headquartered in the United States, acquired FlexisMed SA, its portfolio of innovative spinal technologies and its intellectual property to make the company its wholly owned European R&D subsidiary dedicated to non-fusion. FlexisMed subsequently changed name, became Eden Spine Europe SA, and continued its development work in the field of total disc replacement (TDR) and Dynamic Stabilization. The Eden Spine International Business Model represents the perfect synergistic alliance of scientific research and market penetration"

In 2007, Eden Spine Europe SA skillfully collaborated with its global scientific network and used its reservoir of spinal knowledge and experience to build a valuable R&D pipeline building solid foundations for the Eden Spine Group.

In 2008, Eden Spine Europe the company’s new technologies were tested, the Wellex Interspinous Process Technology successfully obtained CE Mark.

In 2009, the PERFX-2™ pedicle screw based Posterior Dynamic Stabilization (PDS) technology also received CE Mark approval. Both technologies, the Wellex™ and the PERFX-2™ are simultaneously being marketed in multiple markets around the globe.  In addition, Eden Spine Total Disc Replacement Technology is approaching completion.
